Global web traffic is highest on a Wednesday, according to Dutch web analytics firm Onestat.com, when 16.9 per cent of all visits to websites are made.
Monday is the second highest day for web traffic, with 15.8 per cent of all visits, followed by Tuesday with 15.3 per cent, then Thursday with 14.9 per cent and Friday with 14.1 per cent.
Unsurprisingly, the weekend sees a fall in traffic with just 11.9 per cent of web visits made on a Saturday and 11.2 per cent on a Sunday.
Onestat.com said: "The study shows that surfers on the web spent more time on the internet during the workweek than at home on the weekends."
The study took the average for traffic over the last two months.
