The Beeb should stop listening to Timmy Berners-Lee. Web 2.0 is the social web, thanks to the rise of social networks and such. Seems to this luddite that Web 3.0 will extend that social web into the area of web immersion or the web in 3-d.

The whole "semantic web" is really a bit of a crock, since it has been promised by the W3C boys since Methusula was a small boy, and it still hasn't come to fruition. So if I had money, it would be that Web 3.0 will be 3-d not semantic.
