This is great news for advertisers - particularly online advertisers. Yahoo will need to make these types of tools available to 'brick and mortar' advertisers, too, if they want to overtake Google anytime soon. There are a handful of smaller companies that can provide these for 'brick and mortar' companies today (one I use, Zimini, is very good at targeting using geographic, demographic and interest-based criteria). The other issue is how consumers feel about being tracked.
