With both YouTube and Google securing recent content deals this was always on the cards. Although it means that it will be good for the consumer in the short term with the amount of legitimate content growing exponentially, I predict that there will be a charge for viewing this premium content (ie new music videos and top rated TV shows) before too long and this will be how they will recoup much of the huge outlay.

It’s a shame that many of the 'community' sites such as these are being bought by the corporates. We've seen Myspace become a place full of wily marketeers recently, and YouTube will surely catch up fast.
