Web 2.0 is a vague, silly, ambiguous, vacuous, ultimately meaningless term.

It describes evolutionary changes. Flickr is an improvement over Ofoto; AJAX, PHP and Ruby on Rails are better web tools than plain old Java and dynamic HTML.

This is what software always does. It gradually improves. So what else is new? Calling it Web 2.0 is stupid -- it's just the same old Web, with constantly improving tools for building sites.
