There's certainly a lot of innovation going on in the valley at the moment. The challenge for some of these start-ups is working out the exit - particularly in the Internet space.

Take the video sharing sites (all 107 of them), Google already has its own service, so the M&A might come from other sectors. Emerging companies are looking at Hollywood studios at the moment, like Fox Interactive. Viacom just bought Xfire for instance. There's a lot of interest in digital media and the big studios are starting to move in.
