While I agree with the factors you suggest for the acceleration of online sales, you miss the main one. In a word - Broadband.

What are high street stores going to do about this? I think there will come a point where they sart lobbying their local council very hard to provide free parking, but this will probably be met with a deaf ear, until it is too late to make much difference.
