Regardless of the wage and the status of the job, a company should not be able to put in your contract a clause to deny you the right to work if you leave them. This it is surely a human rights issue - to be able to earn a living in the job you have worked and trained for. Clearly any career path will take you to working for similar companies. For example - a trained accountant will most likely work for another accountancy firm. To then be denied the right to work for a competitor in a similar position would significantly reduce the chances of getting a new job.
I don't believe Kruschev was this out-of-control.
