The latest in our weekly look back through some of the classic stories in the silicon.com archive from the last decade is a photo tour of the best of Google Earth - from burning oil fields, to topless sunbathers and Area 51.

The photo tour also includes incredible shots of the famous Hollywood sign in California, Microsoft's Redmond HQ and a rude message in a farmer's field.

Click here to start the tour of Google Earth at Google's own Googleplex HQ in Mountain View California.
