UK online DVD-rental service ScreenSelect.co.uk has teamed up with high street giant Dixons to broaden its customer reach with a co-branded joint venture.

The service will be called DixonsMovies but will essentially offer the same service as that enjoyed by ScreenSelect customers. There will also be a CurrysMovies service launched by the electricals giant.

Anybody going into a Dixons or Currys store will be able to pick up a starter pack, including a special promotional code, which will entitle them to a 21-day free trial of the ScreenSelect service.

Alex Chesterman, chairman of ScreenSelect.co.uk said: "By giving us access to millions of Dixons shoppers each year, this deal really has the ability to grow the online DVD-rental market in the UK. We believe that Dixons and Currys are the ideal partners and we are delighted to be working with them to bring this exciting offer to the high street."
