Football fans can now download goals and highlights of Premiership games from the internet on a pay-per-view basis.

Masochistic Man United fans are the first target, with clips of last night's defeat and the resulting surrender of the Premiership crown to Arsenal available at http://www.manutd.com .

There are plans to extend the service to supporters of Chelsea, Everton, Leeds United, Southampton, Sunderland, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United. The footage, which can either be streamed or downloaded direct from the internet, will be available within two hours of the end of a match and prices start at £1.50.

Paul Hague, managing director of payment software provider iSTRAT, said viewers can choose the way they want to pay for the service.

He said: "Fans can use different payment mechanism such as credit card, debit card and pre-pay credit card. They can also use a Vodafone m-pay-enabled device, which means Vodafone customers can charge it straight to their mobile phone account."

iSTRAT's payment software, called Volition, links directly to Sky Online's registration database. It features reporting and auditing tool as well as customer care and other CRM functions.
