Mobile phone operators in the UK will be given the opportunity to tap into World Cup fever this summer with an SMS-based trivia game from the companies behind Subbuteo and the mass market version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire?.
Finnish interactive games specialist Codeonline has worked with Subbuteo owner Hasbro as well as Maygay, a gaming company known for its quiz machines in pubs, to create the offering.
Users of the Orange, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone UK networks can already play Millionaire, Trivial Pursuit and Zobmondo!!, all provided by Codeonline.
Various web and mobile providers are using the football World Cup to try out various interactive services and games. Subbuteo will test football trivia and use a scale of increasing cash prizes as consumers play each other.
