Budget airline easyJet is on the verge of hitting its internal target of conducting 90 per cent of all ticket sales online.

In December 2001, 89.1 per cent of sales came in through easyjet.com - with passenger numbers of 670,390. It compares with 82.3 per cent in December 2000 and 50 per cent in November 1999, when the company first started publishing data for its site.

The company has seen figures for internet sales stabilise over the past 10 months and doesn't intend to actively seek to increase the 90 per cent figure.
