Would you pay for a news service without advertising?

Nando Times takes a chance on users being prepared to pay not to be bombarded with banner ads and pop-ups...

Online news service the Nando Times has launched an advert-free version of its website in a move to attract paying subscribers.

The new site - launched today -is aiming to attract an audience by allowing subscribers to register for a week at a time, paying $1 for each week-long registration.

The Nando Times is the latest in a growing list of dot-coms to introduce fee-based services as advertising revenues continue to fall.
