UK Online travel agent, ebookers, has defied the gloom in the travel industry following the 11 September terrorist attacks and recorded a positive third quarter.
The firm is still making a loss of £2.6m but compared to an £8.6m loss a year ago there are signs the company is moving in the right direction. CEO, Dinesh Dhamija, said his company was heading towards break even.
In a statement to investors, he said: "Through our aggressive management of costs we have delivered this outstanding quarterly improvement despite the events of 11 September."
Earlier this month ebookers announced job losses of up to 20 per cent.
