United offers flight deal of a lifetime

During a 55-minute computer glitch experienced by the website on 31 January, 143 online customers snapped up fantasy fares advertised as low as $24.98, including return flights from San Francisco to Paris.

Having initially refuted the validity of the purchases, United Airlines backed down to buyer power late yesterday after customers demanded the carrier stick to its original offer.
