Telecom Italia bids $759m for Jet internet services

Telecom Italia has made a $759m bid for French internet services company Jet Multimedia.

According to French stock market regulator Conseil des Marches Financiers (CMF), the Italian carrier is offering to pay 13 per cent more per share than the company's current market value, placing the bid at E83 (£50.82) a share. The company's shares were valued at E71.70 (£43.91) each at the close of markets on Friday.

CMF claimed Telecom Italia was making the bid through its French subsidiary 9 Telecom, of which it owns 93.99 per cent.
