Lastminute.com employs Saatchi advertising strategy

By Joey Gardiner

Lastminute.com has awarded a reported £5m advertising account to high-profile ad agency M&C Saatchi.

The discount travel and retail store said M&C had been given the contract because of the good work it had already done in making lastminute.com one of the UK's leading online brands.

Internet start-ups have recently been criticised for overspend on marketing, rather than concentrating on making profits, characterised as "dot-com burn".
