IBM has introduced an editing and publishing system for digital video to go on the Internet.
It is targeting companies that want to use video for advanced ecommerce or Web-based communications with their customers. By making it possible to bring the process inhouse, IBM claims it can considerably reduce the costs.
The system is a combination of Avid Xpress DV Technology with an IBM IntelliStation M Pro workstation as well as Web-based video hosting and distribution services from IBM. The whole bundle will cost $8,750.
