Tesco to build 100 extra online stores

By Dominic Maher

Tesco plans to build on the success of its Internet shopping business by extending the service into an extra 100 stores.

Currently used at 30 stores, the business now accounts for 7 per cent of the supermarket group's turnover.

Following WalMart's £6.6bn take-over of Asda, Tesco is also looking to other markets to generate revenue. One area is personal finance, which Tesco believes could generate up to £30m per year in income.
