Lotus Development has said the next version of its Notes and Domino groupware will incorporate RealSystem G2 streaming video from RealNetworks.
The technology will enable users to put streaming media files onto a Domino server and then access the file via a link in a documents or email.
While the RealNetworks software will deliver pre-recorded audio and video, live communication in Notes and Domino 5.0 will be enabled by videoconferencing, application sharing and instant messaging.
According to a report in the Wall Street Journal the technology will be distributed to 25 million users.
