Video over the Web technology will be showcased in a two-day summit next month. Speakers at the Seattle summit will include Advanced Radio Telecom, Microsoft and RealNetworks, which will discuss broadband technology.
The Interactive Broadband Services Technology Summit '98 will take place on 28 and 29 September at the Bell Harbor International Convention Centre. Its sponsor, Stellar One, develops digital terminals and software for broadband Internet access.
Topics will include the MPEG standards, streaming media, security and broadband infrastructure. The show will also demonstrate Web access speeds of up to 25.6 Mbps over an ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) using hardware from Alcatel and Compaq.
