By Julian Goldsmith

Published: 18 August 1998 15:49 GMT

Netscape has released version 4.06 of Communicator, containing many of the functions promised in the forthcoming Communicator 4.5, which is currently in beta testing. Version 4.5 is being developed to integrate the browser more fully with the company's Netcenter portal site.

The sneak preview includes two new features: Internet Keywords, which allow users to make Web searches in the URL address bar, and What's Related, a feature that automatically generates lists from Netcenter databases of sites similar to those habitually browsed by the user.
