Thomson Multimedia - a state-owned French television manufacturer - has struck a deal with Microsoft to put Windows CE operating systems in its interactive TV sets.
The agreement will link the company with NEC, Alcatel Alsthom and Hughes Electronic, which will all buy a 7.5 per cent stake in Thomson from the French government.
