In brief: Webtrends adds 'big brother' Net technology

IT managers will be able to use firewalls to monitor Internet usage in future. WebTrends plans to add firewall analysis and software to its enterprise-management applications. The company claims it will enable IT managers to monitor general firewall activity, and incoming and outgoing Web activity. The software is currently being used by the US's Federal Credit Union to give administrators a better sense of who visits its Web site.
