Internet gambling will be a massive growth area on the Web, according to the latest report from IT research company, Datamonitor. According to the report, the Internet gambling market is worth $535m (£334) per year. This will increase to $2bn (£1.2bn) by 2000. The authors note that although the majority of gamblers are in the US, Internet gambling revenues are more likely to be made outside the US because of that country's restrictive gaming laws.
