E-tailer dabs.com has made a purchase of its own, snapping up French company SOS Developers for about E8m.

SOS is a reseller of developer software with offices in Paris and Nice and employs 30 staff, generating revenues of E15m annually.

The acquisition - which dabs.com refers to as "stage one" in its European expansion plans - has been funded by internal cash resources. Dabs.com, which concentrates on IT and electronics sales, said it hopes to be as big in France in 18 to 24 months as it is in the UK now.
