BT has secured a £5.9m contract extension with the Ministry of Defence
The telco has won a deal to create and run an extension to the Land Systems Reference Centre (LSRC), which the MoD will use to test its IT systems in simulated battlefield conditions.
BT and the Ministry of Defence run the LSRC as a partnership.
The extension is necessary, according to the MoD, to enable it to test an increasing amount of communication technology systems, including the SKYNET 5 satellite system and the CORMORANT digital communication network.
The news follows several more significant wins for the telco's services arms, including a $3bn megadeal with news organisation Reuters and a and $500m deal with Barclays.
