BT announced on Thursday that it has signed a £46.6m deal with airport operator BAA to supply it with managed voice and data at its Stansted, Heathrow and Gatwick sites, as well as promoting BAA's flexible working strategy.
BT will upgrade BAA's data network to an IP infrastructure and roll out a managed broadband service, dish out BlackBerries and share best practice to get BAA employees on the flexible working bandwagon.
BT will also provide a telecoms services helpdesk for the company, as well as adding managed mobile services to the fixed-line telephony it already supplies to BAA's over 2,000 users.
The deal follows on from a agreement the pair signed recently for BT to supply BAA with Wi-Fi hotspots in some departure lounges and install 350 payphones and 180 internet kiosks at the three airports.
