NTL's latest cock-up on my acount was to suspend my broadband service. I've got no idea why any company would choose to suspend service on a paid up account, and they didn't appear to know why they'd done it either, but they did.

24 hours after my first complaint it was still suspended. 2 minutes after issuing the threat "www.sky.com" it was working again.

Perhaps I should action that threat.
