AT&T is Swede on $3m deal

AT&T has announced a $3m, three-year deal with international industrial and manufacturing group Cardo.

Based in Sweden, Cardo has subsidiaries worldwide and AT&T has won a contract to implement and manage an MPLS-based wide area network covering 188 sites in 29 countries.

The implementation is intended to cut the costs and overheads in running decentralised network infrastructure across disparate sites.

Peter Lindqvist, CIO of Cardo Group, said in a statement: "We needed one network provider to provide one seamless network connected to a centralised data centre."

Lindqvist added this approach will bring greater flexibility and efficiency.

As well as providing IP connectivity, AT&T will provide services such as hosting and security.
