26.08.99: MCI WorldCom has unveiled its latest range of communication technology and services for the media industry.

The company's Media Manager and Digital Video Services (DVS) are designed to help broadcasters, advertising agencies and other media companies create, manage and distribute content.

26.08.04: This story comes from 'the good old days' when news about WorldCom focused more on technology and less on the scandal which engulfed the company. But what a half-decade it's been for MCI WorldCom in its various guises.

First it was MCI and WorldCom, then, post-merger, it was MCI WorldCom, then it was just WorldCom, then it was mired in corruption and scandal, then it was bankrupt and then it was just MCI again.

Last year WorldCom settled for $500m with the feds, bringing some sort of 'closure' to the scandal which had run for years and claimed the scalps and reputations of many senior execs along the way.
