AXA Group has chosen France Telecom and its global network subsidiary Equant in a six-year, €400m telecoms-infrastructure deal.
Equant IP virtual private network (VPN) technology will network AXA's HQ with regional offices, call centres and branches across Western Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.
AXA stressed efficient and effective network management for its choice of suppliers as well as long-term partnering - one aspect of the contract will be FT and Equant helping with research and development specific to AXA's activities during coming years.
IP infrastructure is increasingly becoming a priority for large companies, as seen in a number of recent contract wins by global carriers.
