After three months of investigations the chief executive of Telecom Italia, Roberto Colaninno, has been informed he is being officially scrutinised for a possible conflict of interest caused by a TI acquisition.
According to news agencies, a Turin prosecuting magistrate yesterday served Colaninno and 10 other executives with a formal notification. He is suspected of benefiting when Seat Pagine Gialle, a directories company, was bought by Tin.it, TI's ISP.
Colaninno has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. He and another board member have admitted they indirectly owned a stake in Seat, but records show they did not make financial gains from the Tin.it transaction.
