Japanese mobile operator NTT DoCoMo is considering buying a 20 per cent stake in US mobile infrastructure provider VoiceStream Wireless, according to a report in Finnish IT weekly Tietoviikko.
VoiceStream Wireless' share price has risen 300 per cent over the past 12 months and the company has attracted many international investors, including Finnish telecommunications operator Sonera.
Neither company was willing to comment on the deal.
