In brief: Colt Telecom takes on Spanish market

Colt Telecom today launched a digital fibre optic network to serve the main financial area of Madrid, Spain.

The company's first customer is investment bank, Merrill Lynch which will gain high bandwidth ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) services between its two core business centres.

Colt provides network services in six other European countries. The company plans to expand its Spanish operations to Barcelona next year.
