Motorola has signed a contract to supply a digital trunked radio system to the Basque Government. The company has announced plans to install a 7,000-terminal system across the region, that will be used by emergency services.

Motorola distributor Amper Sistemas will install the system. Financial details were not disclosed.

Manual Torres, regional manager for Motorola's Radio Network Solutions Group (RNSG), said the Tetra system will improve public safety by co-ordinating incident reports.
