False claim of MoD's surplus spectrum billions
The Radiocommunications Agency has dismissed as "speculative" reports in The Sunday Times that the government is set to 'raise billions' from the sale of surplus spectrum not needed by the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

A spokeswoman for the agency told silicon.com that although the Chancellor announced a review on the efficiency of the use of spectrum in his pre-budget statement last week, such a review has yet to even start.
"We have welcomed a review and agree that spectrum needs to be managed efficiently," she said. "However, that is a long way off from the MoD actually giving up any frequencies, let alone deciding what to do with them."
