As long as the infrastructure is there mobile broadband is phenomenal. When most laptops have got the stuff built in and the data contract prices continue to fall as they are then there coudl be a revolution.

It will also allow for other applications. Imagine having your data backed up to an online tool daily, wherever you are in the world. Fantastic.

Also 3G could be used in reverse, for example if a user loses a laptop or it is stolen then laptop data deletion tools could use 3G to find the device and wipe out the data before it falls into the wrong hands. Really powerful that as data security becomes more important.
