I agree 100% with peter's comments. Working with an education complex, our unit was recently denied the capability to install a WiFi system for lecturers on the grunds that it would be too complex to log all users as required by JANET protocols. What a load of rubbish. JANET's security agreements advise AGAINST over-restrictive measures and fileting that can denie access to genuine users, yet there still exists a minority of incompetent and unqualified IT people who like to dominate everything at the expense of staying in the dark ages. WiFi systems should be as free and unrestrictive as possible with people being able to take responsibility for their own actions and business communities winning as a result. Hotels who charge for a 5 minute download on their WiFi should be 'named and shamed.'
