Too much TV is junk:

"... Perhaps surprisingly, we also watched less television..."

My Freeview box finds 86 TV & radio channels: Most are junk, many broadcast mostly imported rubbish; to fill air-time, they even repeat creaking series from the 50s and 60s!

Why so little UK content?

Thousands of people now own digital camcorders; some must have time & talent: Why so little chance for this budding talent to broadcast their programmes?

Digital camcorders and easy editing software have removed the need for teams of highly skilled technicians and large budgets.
