If Orange had gone to market with a circular logo and the name "Orange", no-one would have said they had any IP rights in the logo or colour. Instead, the chose a square logo. Clearly, therefore, their rights (if any) cannot be in the colour itself, but in the combined use of the square/colour/text. Go for it, Stelios!
