In his latest video blog, Peter Cochrane reports from the deck of a boat out at sea.

Though some people doubt the world will have four billion mobile phones by the end of the year, he points out that everywhere he travels, he gets network coverage – even while sailing. If he can see land, he can get a signal.

So will we reach that goal of four billion mobiles before 2009? Cochrane offers his opinion.
