easyMobile, the no-frills operator owned by easyGroup boss Stelios Haji-Iannou, is off to pastures new with the opening of a German arm, the company announced today.

Germany marks the third territory for easyMobile, which opened its virtual doors in the UK earlier this year and is planning a launch in the Netherlands.

As in the UK, easyMobile will be piggybacking on T-Mobile's network and reselling its airtime at a low rate, on the proviso that the customer provides the handset.

TDC, the company behind the easyMobile venture, has the option to launch the MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) using the easyMobile brand in 12 countries within Europe.
