Korean mobile phone manufacturer Samsung and high-end hi-fi maker Bang & Olufsen have announced they are working together on a new handset.
The fruit of their labours will be a pared down, high-end handset, focusing more on upmarket design than features.
However, the phone will use Bang & Olufsen ICEpower technology to boost its acoustics.
Samsung has also licensed the technology for use in future handsets.
The first phone from the joint venture will be available from the fourth quarter of this year in Europe and Russia, to be sold through Bang & Olufsen stores and Samsung's higher end resellers.
Samsung, the world's third place mobile manufacturer behind Nokia and Motorola, sold around 24 million handsets in the second quarter of this year, according to analyst house Gartner.
