Orange's CEO, Sol Trujillo, has decided he's had enough. He's stepped down from the role of head honcho at mobile operator after barely getting comfortable, spending just a year in the job.
The fellow stepping into Trujillo's shoes will be Orange's COO, Sanjiv Ahuja, while the ex-boss takes up the mantle of special advisor to Thierry Breton, the CEO of Orange's parent company France Telecom.
While Trujillo has been full of compliments for his stint with Europe's third-biggest mobile company - he said in a statement that his year in the job had been one of challenge, success and one that he had wholly enjoyed - but took up a Trappist-like stance on his reasons for quitting, saying he had done all he wanted to do in the job.
Although there has been speculation that he and Breton weren't exactly the best of friends, Trujillo said earlier this week: "There is no spat." Breton backed him up, issuing a statement to the effect that Trujillo had done "outstanding" work.
The mobile operator is also restructuring its hierarchy, bringing fresh blood to the board with six new additions.
