RIM announced yesterday that BlackBerry's active users have topped the one-million mark.
BlackBerry is now available across 50 networks in more than 30 countries around the globe. It seems that BlackBerry isn't just winning friends with users - software and handset makers have been falling over themselves to get involved. Last month, Samsung signed up BlackBerry to enable wireless connectivity to corporate networks, with PalmSource also joining the party to collaborate on software.
Research in Motion recently posted expectation-beating results, and hopes that the landmark in subscriber numbers is an upbeat indicator of things to come for the wireless communications company. Mike Lazaridis, president of RIM, said in a statement: "This is an important threshold for BlackBerry and even a positive industry indicator, since BlackBerry is now the first integrated wireless data platform to reach the one-million-subscriber mark."
