Wipro has opened its first development centre in Scandinavia, at Tampere in Finland.
The Indian software company already has European development facilities in Reading in the UK and Kiel in Germany. The latest move follows a bilateral economic co-operation agreement signed by Jari Vilen, the Finnish Minister for Foreign Trade, on a recent trip to India.
Wipro is looking to work more closely with European companies. The latest centre positions it closely to mobile phone giant Nokia.
Wipro is already India's largest exporter to Finland, according to figures from the Indian Embassy in Helsinki.
