BBC Technology has been handed the contract to manage Hutchison 3G's audio-visual content.
The commercial high-tech arm of the BBC will prepare the content in its West London technology centre before it's transmitted to Hutchison and then on to users' handsets.
Hutchison has signed a raft of multimedia content deals in advance of the launch of its network, including one to distribute exclusive Premiership football highlights.
BBC Technology employs around 1,300 staff and was first unveiled in July 2000.
