France will complete the auction of its 3G mobile licences in autumn 2002, according to a revised timetable drawn up by the country's telecoms regulator.
The government last week slashed the price of its 3G licences, including the two already allocated to France Telecom and Vivendi, and extended their life from 15 to 20 years.
The initial beauty contest auction fell apart in January this year after Bouygues Telecom withdrew from the process claiming it was all but impossible to make money from the inflated licence costs.
The initial price tag of E4.95bn (£3.1bn) was reduced to E619m (£387m) last week.
